Carloalberto Treccani received his PhD degree at the School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong. Currently, he is a Research Assistant Professor at the Department of Humanities and Creative Writing of Hong Kong Baptist University. His work explores the development of visually ‘intelligent’ machines and their implications on what we know and think on the ways we see the world. As an artist, his work interrogates the production, reproduction, manipulation, circulation, perception, and falsiﬁcation of images to investigate the formation of the contemporary gaze. His artwork has been exhibited in group and solo exhibitions, among which are Metafotograﬁa III (2021), The Hong Kong International Photo Festival (2018) and The Venice Biennale (2011).
