Andrea Chiurato is Associate Professor in the department of Comunicazione, Arti e Media at IULM University. His studies focus primarily on four areas of scientific inquiry: the experimental novel; intermediality e crossmediality; literary geography; periodical studies.
He has published a number of books and papers, among which: La retroguardia dell’avanguardia (2011); Là dove finisce la città. Riflessioni sull’opera di J. G. Ballard (2013) e La metropoli ai margini. Alterità, diversità ed esclusione tra Otto e Novecento (2016); The Last Avant-garde. Alternative and Anti-establishment Reviews (1970-1979 (2019), Geografie dell’esodo (2020).

Andrea Chiurato completed his Ph.D in Comparative Literature in 2008, with a thesis on the relationship between the Nouveau Roman and the new Italian avant-garde, entitled The Butor Front. The Experimental Novel in Italy from 1953 to 1969.
